Life Changing..

So, I am back from Poland. I do not even know where to begin.. I am so glad I went on this trip, it was hard at times, but so moving and powerful too. I know I am a different person, this trip opened my eyes and heart to so many different things and people. I truly fell in love with Poland, I didn't want to leave!!
I wanted to post pictures though.. I am hoping to write out everything here soon but in the meantime here are some pictures...
Enjoy..

Things are coming along!!

Ok, so it has been a few weeks since my last post. I am sorry to the regulars for not having a picture posted, but I did not want that to delay my update for everyone about the Mission Trip.
So here in less than 4 weeks I leave for Poland. I can't believe it!! Right now we are in the midst of all the details. You know the fun stuff.

Our Objective for this trip is a bit more defined now.
There is only one Protestant church in the town, so we will be working with a Club (kind of like a Boys and Girls Club her in the states) as a way to introduce them to Christians and the church. The club is not religious based, but we are attempting to build relationships with people in the neighborhood, so that they long term missionaries can build upon our connections once we leave. Also, we are hoping to inspire the local church to also to be active in this mission.
Leading up to this trip we have been learning about Roman Catholism, and how the Catholics in Poland are different than what we would know here in the states. Also just learning about the culture and polish customs and vocab. One thing that will be diffucult is they do not drink with their meals. That means no milk or water till desesert and then you get tea or coffee (which is fine with me!) but it was so hard, my throat was parched, all I wanted was water when we had our Polish dinner. But I guess I will have to get use to it or perhaps I can hide a water jug and sneak drinks. Also I have learned one word in Polish " Good Day" That is it!! I guess I will be helping them with their English more than they with my Polish!

So Details:
We leave on Friday, July 7th and arrive in Warsaw on Saturday July 8th in the morning. We will spend some time in Warsaw traveling around and seeing the sights and then catch the evening train down to Lublin. On Sunday morning we will be conducting most of the service. Praise and Worship and also the Sermon. Then will get ready for our Big World Cup Party that night. Hopefully Poland is still in it by then, but regardless Soccer is a huge deal in Poland so it will be lots of fun to hang out with them and watch the game and start building relationships with the people of Lublin.

Then our daily schedule will be something along these lines
8:00 Breakfast

9:15 Language study/culture field trip This will be with a language partner that we will be helping them with their English (yeah, my partner will get Midwestern/jersey/a hint of southern slang English)
10:00 Break
10:10 Culture or mission study/culture field trip
11:00 Each day's workshop teacher(s) will set up at Ruta.
11:30 Lunch
12:30 Worship time with Language Partners in they want to join us.
1:30 Workshop (will explain below)
2:30 Activity (will explain below)
5:30 Dinner
6:30 Coffee House discussion groups

Workshop: These workshops will be our way of drawing people into the club. I guess they always want to practice english and meet americans. So here is were we will also build relationships

Spanish
American Sports:
Photography
Crafts
Sharing Cultures

Coffee Shops Discussions: This is when we can build upon those relationships we have built during the workshops and hopefully share our faith and testimony through these topics.
Family Comparisons
Defining Friendships
Finding Mr./Ms. Right
Hope

Well, as you can tell we will be super busy. I want to thank all who have been praying for me and for all your support!! I could never be doing this trip without you.

As for Prayer request: I am very anxious.. The other day I was listening to the book on tape and it was telling the story of Martha and Mary. Mary spent her time at Jesus feet listening to him, while Martha was busy in the kitchen and was just getting angry and frustrated with Mary. Well.. I am being Martha.. So focused on this task and that task that I am not in prayer about this trip and life as much as I need it..

Love ya all!!

Craziness and All of that!!

So, I have had one whirl wind weekend, but that has been about the norm lately..
First, I have to post this funny pictures of my cat Sam.. Let me give you some background.. So I had a birthday party for two of my friends on Friday night, and another one my friends brought over some balloons for decorations and such.. Well, sam was after those balloons!! He would grab the ribbon and his mouth and walk around the house with them until he would open his mouth and they would go flying out which just te-ed him off.. So he would go get another color, and when that dang balloon would fly off he would just sit and scream (in a cat scream, if you can imagine) at them.. Me and my friend thought it was the funniest thing ever..

Also this weekend, I had a team building event for all of us on the Poland Mission trip.. It ended up being a great day!! The sun came out (finally) and the clouds cleared away to a beautiful blue sky!! We did a trust exercise, were you lead someone around blind folded. Well, when I was blind folded all my partner could use was touch, no words.. That was scary, I am such a klutz, we had to climb over a picnic table blind folded, it is a miracle I didn't fall!! Then we did this even were you are knotted together and have to figure out together how to get untied, well, me and Bobby got out first, just the really hard way!! There are definately some black mail pictures there!! But it was good for some laughs. The we got presents from the missionaries in Poland. The sent us some food (all yummy, Poles like Chocolate!!), map and a childrens games to help us learn Polish. Then we each got a postcard, a child's book to learn our colors, and us women got Amber necklaces. It was very touching. I am getting more excited and sacred every day!!

I am posting the words to one of my favorite songs.. "The Voice of Truth" by Casting Crowns.
I think they really convey's how I feel about life and this trip right now.. Just a bit defeated, and sacred, of getting out of my comfort zone! "Let Go, Let God!"

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
on to the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown
where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand

But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

Chorus:
But the Voice of Truth
tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes
to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name
And he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling meTime and time again.
"Boy you'll never win!""You'll never win!"

Chorus:

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
On top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me!

Heather's Big Day..

Ok, for my family you might wondering what this is on my blog for, but you all know my good friend Heather, well on June 17th and 18th there is a bridal shower and bachellorete party that is being planned that involves people like in 5 different states!! So we have been doing all this planning via email and phone calls. (Jenny I don't know how you planned a party in Indiana in Japan!!) So I am posting pictures for the rest of the planning crew to see..
CA, hopefully you will be happy to see these pictures!
Reception area, when you first walk in.. The door to the room is off to the right in the back..

Kitchen Area: When you first walk in the room There is a coffee maker we can use too..

The Room: The windows are only on one wall, on the back, the view out the back (so pretty)

This picture looks back on the room from the window area...

Spring: New Beginnings

Ok, so I love spring now that I have my own yard. I have flowers popping up, a great porch, and I even planted my own grass seed over the weekend. Every Heinzman green thumb gene in me is coming out at full force. My neighbors were wondering why I was so intent of getting all the dandelions out my yard, and I am always out there looking for any twig or branch that falls down. I will have the yard to envy!! That is my goal, I want my yard to be the one in which all others try to measure up against.. If you knew my grandpa boots or my dad, you will understand my madness!!

Well, enjoy the pictures for Easter and my flowers...

Katie, Jordan and the my future sister-in-law Jenny Rose

Easter at Grandma's, it was a just a tad windy!! We can't see Dad, someone's hair is in the way.. LOL

My flowers.. and don't worry, I am trying to fix the patchy grass..

The 80's Party

Sorry, it has taken so long to post these pictures..
For those who don't know, for my 27th birthday I had a 80's party. It was a ton of fun, and lots of laughter. It was a night of one hit wonders, lots of monster ballads, some spontenous dancing and some "good" renditions of Posion songs (air guitar and all).

There was some candy from our childhood, candy necklaces, candy rings, bubblelicious gum, and pixie sticks. I wanted some pop rocks but couldn't find them anywhere, they sacred me as a child they probally would do the same now. But I think everyone had a great time.. Thank you all for coming and making my entrance in my "late" 20's bearable!!!

Heather, Jeff and Me!! Thank you guys for coming!!

Jamey & Jamie! (yes, I am wearing a candy necklace)

Jamey & Julie (Julie, I love ya, but those clothes, represented the "bad" parts of the 80's) But I love ya for wearing them!

Shannon, Tiffany x 2 and Jamey (I think my barbie had the same dress Shannon is wearing!)

Thanks guys for being such good sports and dressing up (and yes, pegging your pants did count!)

Poland Trip

So, I haven't posted in a while, things have been a bit crazy.. But I couldn't post without some picture, since I don't have a cute baby, hopefully some day. I hope a picture of my moms youngest baby would do.. Maggie Moo! I love this picture. Mom had gone into the store, so maggie got in the front seat and waited.. It looked like she was driving..

So word has gotten around to some of my family and friends, that I am going on my first missionary trip this summer to Lublin, Poland. I will be there July 7-17. I am so excited. I am 1 of 12 from my group at church. My friend Amber is going to be a missionary over there full time, and hopefully will be staying there when we go over, if all her support comes in.
What we will be doing while we are there is still up in the air. Don't worry Mom, I am not teaching anyone swing dancing, but perhaps we will be doing sports ministry, a coffee shop, or teaching english as a second language. The missionaries over there currently are still trying to figure out how they can best use us.
As for where is Lublin located it is south east of Warsaw, by the Ukraine and Belarus border.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lublin
This is a website in which you can learn about Lublin..
http://www.rucin.net/html/home.html
Above is the website to one of the missionary families we will be working with
Why am I going to Poland you might be asking..
Here is an interesting number:
evangelical believers number far less than 1% of the population
Wow, is that crazy!! We are so blessed to live in the country in which we do..
So if everyone could pray for me and the rest of the Poland team as we prepare for the trip..
I will keep you posted on the trip as planning progresses...

A day off..

So, I took a day off of work to clean house, have the plumber come and get some housework done.. Is that happening, NO!! The plumber did come, and my drains are squecky clean now.. Other than that, I am surfing the web, checking out friends blog sites, got my nails done and checking my bank account online. But I did find something online that is worth all that time. My friend Rachel had a link to this site on her blog, and I have watched this video like 10x, and it is funnier every time. Check out http://www.xanga.com/satanisatool
It is Beastie Boys Parody Called "Lazy Munice" Check the link on the March 6th.
Other than I have to give a shout-out to Katie, who turned 21 yesterday.. Yes it is true!
Also, Sam (the famous Jersey Cat) was jeolous that he hasn't been posted yet on the blog. (don't worry his eyes don't glow, like a demon all the time :) )
